Bigger that the Pentagon

 

The photo above is of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.  If it looks like a giant construction site, that's because, well, it is.  According to this AP article, that open patch to the right is about to become the largest building in the world (measured by floor space) - at 15.6 million square feet it will have twice the floor space of the Pentagon.


In another interesting note, the Wahhabis are ruthless about removing idolatry -  to the point that Muhammed's house is now buried underneath a run-down building.  This leads the AP to write these days it's easier to find a Cinnabon in Mecca than the house where the Prophet Muhammed was born.
