Perfect Hip-Pop Music
Perfect Hip-Pop Music
I needed some inspiration, so I went to my favourite store in France and wasn’t disappointed. I came away with Arthur King’s Pop Sh!t-one of the greatest mix tapes I’ve heard in ages. If you ever wondered what would happen if someone combined hip hop songs with the underlying pop songs they sampled, this is for you. Picture David Bowie’s Let’s Dance leading to B.I.G.’s Been Around the World colliding with Lisa Stanfield’s Been Around the World. 37 (!) tracks in a little more than 70 minutes. And the cover artwork is amazing too. Don’t know how you’ll buy this outside of France, but look it up...
