Useful but Never Built

 

There’s a forthcoming book entitled nonobject.  It’s a book about “design fictions” where the authors have sought to design objects that cannot exist.


The above is one of the designs - for a cellphone called Tarati (Sanskrit for “he passed over”).  The concept is that you dial by putting your fingers in the holes that represent the different key functions.  Almost guaranteed to never be built and a fascinatingly impractical way to think of communicating...
