		<description>I know, I know - but there's actually a good reason.  Turns out that in order to burn as little fuel as possible when you launch a rocket into space (a serious problem), they try to launch them as close as possible to the equator.  (Earth's linear velocity is highest there)

Merritt is pretty far south.

Now add to that the fact that it's on the Ocean and you fire a rocket Eastward (as the world turns that way), and, should an accident occur, the debris will fall out to see rather than over the continental U.S.

So, alas, there's a good reason to put the damn thing there...</description>
