I received my weekly Springwise
email today about cool business ideas and I thought this one warranted
mention. Turns out you can now order your burger at McDonalds in
South Korea by RFID. Point your phone at what you want to order;
no need to talk to anyone and the charge appears on your cell phone
account at the end of the month.
South Korea continues to lap us in the technology game. Check out this article in Monocle magazine to see how their cell phones are beyond us (and redefining youth culture). And read here in Business 2.0 (RIP) how South Koreans have such fast and cheap broadband (almost 90% household penetration!) access that it's turning traditional media on its head (2 tv channels showing the results of online games?).
