I just read about how you pick up your new car at Volkswagen’s Autostadt-their car theme park and factory in Wolfsburg.  I don’t know if there’s any car buying experience that parallels this.

The factory has a capacity of 1,000 cars a day, each of which are placed into one of two 50 meter tall glass cylinders.  Upon your arrival at the tower, an elevator rises up and plucks the car from the correct booth and whisks it down to you.  If you love reading about the technical details, check this link.  More importantly, don’t take my word for it, check the photos:
