The above comic comes from the latest edition of the Village Voice (Sept 26 - Oct 2, '07).  If you look closely at the middle, you'll see The Great Speculator with his bag of oil money, saying "Think I'll Do A Little Shopping While I'm In Town."  Who's walking with him and saying "Me Too, Eh?"

None other than Captain Canada, represented by his flapped hat, canuck shirt and second chin.

Boo on the Village Voice for running this without doing their homework.  Why don't I see any U.S. oil barons spending so freely?  According to the Department of Energy, the U.S. outproduced Canada by a margin of about 2.5 to 1 last year.  It's not Canada's fault if outconsumes us by a factor of 9 to 1 (same page as above link; second table).  Also, Mexico outnetexported (alright, I promise no more new words) last year...
