I've spent a lot of time in truly uninspiring elevators.  Usually my eyes either glazed over at the Elevator News Network's insipid facts ("Drinking water proven good") or I found myself wondering if there was an escape hatch in the roof.

Now, however, I may find myself admiring the walls of the elevator.  It turns out that the Kone elevator corporation (alas, not Otis), has partnered with textile designers Marimekko to create a series of murals that go at the back of elevators.  The ride to the fifth floor will never be the same...
