Blue Bird Days
Blue Bird Days
I just got back from a few days skiing at Whistler. What a great time. Here are a few shots of the team:
My
last day of skiing was one of the best I've ever had. We woke up
to clouds, but it turned out that they were all in the valley.
Clear skies in the alpine:
We
hiked up to the top of Blackcomb glacier; here's what the view was
like. By the way, we then tore up this slope for fresh tracks on
the day:
My
buddy Dave Ellis and I then hiked back up and dropped into the
backcountry on the far side of the glacier. It was waist-deep
powder to get in and there were only about four other people in the
bowl. Here's the view:
We hit up a couple of turns in the bowl where there was an insane amount of new snow.
Here's a stylized shot of Dave (check out the link below for more Dave Ellis ski fun):
Then
it was off to Yusumi for a multi-thousand foot ski out. Here's
the view from the top of Yusumi; most incredible run I've ever skied:
I've also a few great action shots of Dave skiing (animated GIFs) - but they're too large to post here, so you'll have to click here to see them (trust me - they're worth hitting the link).
