For the past few days I’ve been reading Soul on Ice-Eldridge
Cleaver’s autobiography that he wrote in San Quentin in 1965.
It’s pretty fiery stuff and shortly after leaving San Quentin he went
on to found the Black Panthers (he was their Minister of Information
a.k.a. spokesman).
Until looking him up in Wikipedia
I didn’t realize that during the early ‘70s he fled to Algeria and then
France where he was supported by the North Vietnamese. However,
it was in his French phase that he made one of his most interesting
contributions to humanity: a new line of pants. Words fail to
describe how style met function under the watchful gaze of tailor
Cleaver. Check it out for yourself below:
